MonTuesday Motivation
Sorry, I'm tardy for the party. So, let's get crackin' on the motivation! When you hear a good song, whether it's an old school song or this new jack swing they call music....what do you do? Do you start dancing or does it transport you and your mind to another place? Music is meant to do a variety of things, usually it sets the mood or tone for things to come. Nothing can help get rid of the blues like good music. Nothing is better than a good beat and a dance floor. I noticed that whatever is going on in people's lives- good, bad or ugly-music has the ability to change the mood, if only for the 3 minutes the song is playing. Dancing like no-one is watching is also a healthy activity....it gets your heart rate going, it distracts you from what's bothering you and it will improve your mood!! I encourage everyone to find a song, or a list of songs that you can listen to that will transport you to a happy place, or help you maintain the happy place you are in...Go ahead--Dance like no-one is watching!!!

Ok. I am really late checking in. Between being out of town one week and sick the next things have been difficult. I can say that while I was out of town everything went fine it was just hard to take the time to blog. But being sick last week was like hitting a brick wall. My eating was off and I didn't exercise at all. I am happy to say that even though I still don't feel 100% I was able to start exercising again and my eating is back on track. I will say this though. Missing that one week really set me back.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Just about every morning when I arrive at work, I have to play Donnie McClurkin's "I Call You Faithful" to get my mind right for work. Regarding exercising, well, back in my heyday of working out, I used to blast Beyonce's "B-Day" cd.
ReplyDeleteI did that very thing the minute I walked into the elevator at work this morning dancing like no one was watching. Although the thought crossed my mind “I wonder if they have cameras in here” The CD’s that really make me want to get up and shake my tail feather currently are Fred Hammond’s “Love Unstoppable” (Every song could be a single cut, the song I was dancing to is called “I know what He’s Done.”) and Israel Houghton’s “The Power of One.” Both of these CD’s help me to get my mind right spiritually and ready to take on the day as well as exercise. Music does seem to impact me and have the ability to change my mood quickly. Fred Hammond’s music is what transports me to my happy place as of late.
ReplyDelete@Shandelin....watch out for the elevator dancing...been there, done that...and found out that the security guard was watching me on the hidden camera!!!! YIKES! BTW, where are my CD's?
ReplyDelete@Keisha--A setback is a set up for a comeback!!!!
@Miss Twists..I will have to put the Beyonce's CD in rotation for my workout.
